We are thrilled to introduce you to Christabel Forbes, an artist who we absolutely love. Her work just fills us with joy, whether it’s her beautiful mark making, complex array of colours, or her beautiful relationship with the landscape. This workshop is about experimenting and connecting your mind and hands to produce a textured and experimental art piece.

Christabel Forbes is a young colourist whose individual treatment of landscape is unmistakeably her own. She was born in Courbevoie, outside Paris, of mixed French and British parentage. Christabel trained at The Royal Drawing School, after taking a BA in Fine Art at Falmouth University. She has built up a portfolio of residencies and teaching experience in the UK and abroad, based around her use of colour to evoke people and places. In her work, as in her teaching, she tries to maintain a level of playfulness and spontaneity. Find her on Instagram or her website

Live workshop and Video: Join the workshop live, ask questions and participate. You’ll get a recording of the session the next day. This gives you the opportunity to revisit any of the techniques or artists mentioned. A zoom link will be sent a day before the class, and recorded video link will be sent the next day. The link expires within 1 month. Please note, faces and voices will be visible but you can turn your camera off and mute if you wish.
Video access: Couldn’t make the live workshop? Receive a link to watch the workshop and join at your own time. The video will be sent the day after the workshop via a link. This link expires within 1 month. Please bear in mind, this is not a webinar, participants will be shown in the recording.

This booking is for one person only.
Materials you will need:
A4 paper (Cartridge or card)
You can use any drawing material for this workshop, materials you may want to use but not limited too, oil pastels, felt tip pens, sharpies, colouring pencils, charcoal & paint pens.
Different mark making tools for example, brushes, tooth brush, stick, anything you think you can make a mark with and you may already have at home.
Masking tape.
Landscape Image (this could be a photograph you have taken or an image you have sourced from the internet, always good to have a few to pick from.
